Principal

Mrs. Deaton lives in Star with her husband, Ray.  She has three children that all attended Star Elementary School but have moved on to college and adulthood. The 2024-2025 school year will mark her 28th year in education and her 7th year as principal at Star. She has taught elementary school, high school, served as a reading specialist, and assistant principal during her time as an educator.  Many of those years were spent at Star Elementary.

Mrs. Deaton enjoys the opportunity to work with teachers on a daily basis, while also remaining connected to young students learning and growing in the classroom. She believes that every child can learn and education is the foundation of success. Having lived in the community for many years, she is excited about working with families and community stakeholders.
