Principal's Message
Dear Families,
Star Elementary School sits in a quiet small town in the heart of the state. Each school year allows us to renew our commitment to providing a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for all of our students. All members of Star Elementary school are proud of the high expectations we hold for each other and the support provided for all students at our school.
Providing an individualized learning experience for every child every day is essential. We strive to improve opportunities for our students, design work that develops creativity and critical-thinking and ensure that our students are ready for their next step into secondary education.
Our instructional program is aligned to the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. We provide a dedicated time each day for intervention and acceleration. Enrichment opportunities for students include student council, Battle of the Books, and Math Olympics. After school activities for enrichment include Running Club, STEM club, chorus, and Girls on the Run. In addition, our library is open after school four days a week to provide students and parents access to technology and literacy. Our focus remains not only on the academic needs of each student but also on developing future ready skills.
We believe in the power of families and the vested interest of our local community. Our school host a variety of parent nights for curriculum and learning. We welcome parents and the community into our school and strive to be a positive contributor to the success of both Montgomery County and our future leaders.
Kindly,
